Sales of the Lordstown-built Chevrolet Cobalt small cars dropped 22 percent in October to 5,055 units from 6,478 in October 2008, General Motors Corp. said Tuesday in releasing its total sales numbers for the month.
Due to the risk of a fuel leakage, General Motors is recalling about 53,000 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Saturn Ion and Pontiac G5 vehicles, which were sold in the states of Arizona, Texas, California, Florida and Nevada.
