I had my 2002 Hyundai Sonata in for an oil change. They told me I needed an induction service.

I want to know if anyone has had an induction service & timing belt replacement suggested for their Hyundai sonata (2002)? Friends say the induction service is a scam and the timing belt shouldn't need replacing at 65,000 miles. any suggestions?
