2004 Hyundai Sonata LX from North America - Comments

Nothing at all. I traded in a 1999 Sonata for this car in Nov of 2003 and it is my third Hyundai. The car has been remarkable in terms of ride, acceleration, quietness, and reliability.

Very poor gas mileage - below sticker minimum; service manager says this is normal for Hyundai due to ethanol in all gas - so much for the warranty and federal disclosures!

2009 Hyundai Sonata Limited review from North America

What things have gone wrong with the car? None so far. General comments? One of the best cars I've ever owned. All 2009 Sonatas were upgraded from 160 to 179 horsepower, resulting in excellent acceleration.

Nothin yet. The headlights seem too dim for some, and the air filter needed replacement. The tires up front wear quickly, even with a lot of highway driving.

2001 Hyundai Sonata GLS review from North America

What things have gone wrong with the car? In first three years, power window motors were replaced twice, each front door. Oxygen sensor replaced three times. Tires were dry rotted after two years.

What things have gone wrong with the car? At 104,000 miles I had to replace the radiator. also at that same mileage the car wouldn't pass the emissions test. I ended up sinking about a grand into it at that time.

The engine had an oil leak at 5493 miles. The dealer replaced the oil pan gasket. The brakes started pulsating at 5634 miles. The dealer replaced both front brake rotors.

What things have gone wrong with the car? Occasionally, the automatic locks would activate by themselves. My crank pulley literally flew off for no apparent reason. After repaired, there was a high pitched squealing noise whenever the car was running.

Hyundai chrome trims are cheap, an exterior chrome trim ($50) and a door handle ($50) had to be changed. Door handle was really sharp; my girlfriend cut herself on the chipped chrome.

We own a 2000 Hyundai Sonata 2.4L, had 51,000 miles 2.5 years ago, drove fine except it shuts down while driving. The driver's side window will not shut, squeaking from rear wheel, wheel bearing, tachometer gauge/meter pin doesn't move, driver's side headlamp shuts off.

In three years and 45000 miles of motoring, nothing has gone wrong, and I mean nothing! My last car was a company car, a 2005 Mazda 6 2.0 diesel. A great car, but not comfortable at all, the wife hated it.

We are now bringing our car in for the 3rd time for the same problem. The power window regulators fail and/or break. A few months after our purchase the front drivers side window failed. The window went down, but failed to go up with out me having to pull it at the same time.
