1997 Nissan Pathfinder stuck in 4WD? In 2WD the front wheels are out, 4WD light stays on but front drive shaft is turning. external link

The SUV is a 5 speed manual trans. The front drive shaft turns in 2WD and the 4WD light stays on but in 2WD the front wheels are out (ie no traction) rear wheels spin in snow.
