Maruti produced more cars than Suzuki in 2009
When the Maruti Suzuki joint venture was set up in the mid-1980s, few would have imagined that someday, Maruti would be making more cars than Suzuki. And yet, it’s already happened – in 2009, Maruti produced 966,399 cars, while Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) produced 908,302 units.
