I have 150,000 on my 2002 Sienna van. We've spent $2000 on brakes since buying it 7 years ago, or about $150/yr. This includes about 4 sets of rotors, lots of pads (ceramic), and a new set of calipers at about 120,000.
What things have gone wrong with the car? The 6-disc in-dash CD changer/radio operates erratically (fails to turn on, fails to turn off, won’t accept a CD, spits out all 6 CDs, display won’t come on, display won’t light, volume knob won’t adjust volume).
Not a thing. Oh my gosh, where do we begin with comments on this van? All of them are great ones. We traded our 1995 Escort LX Wagon with 100,000 miles for one of these. Our family friend has a 2004 Sienna LE with AWD and she adores it.
What things have gone wrong with the car? Large volume of smoke at startup. Using about a quart of oil a week, even though I'm only going about 100 miles a week (I'm semi-retired). I changed oil religiously, but still have a massive issue with this engine.
What things have gone wrong with the car? Rear door hydraulics went out (rear hatch won't stay open.) Upgraded the stereo. General comments?
Like everyone else. Great van - bad tires" What things have gone wrong with the car?
The plastic clip for the hood support rod broke around 20,000 miles and the dealer replace it under warranty. A seatbelt seatbelt tensioner on one of the rear seats jammed and I had to replace the entire seatbelt ($130 and 4 hours of my labor).
RFT's repleaced at approx. 20,000 kms, (by Dunlop with the Toyota dealership taking credit --- bullocks --- I set up the new tires) and now at the odometer reading 40,000 kms it looks obvious that I will need a new set.
We have had to change our tires every year. The first run-flats only lasted 1 year. The second set kept blowing out. The third set of tires were not run-flats, but they only lasted one year also. I am now on my fourth set of tires.
